Russia on Wednesday denied that it had compromising information on President-elect Donald Trump.
“The Kremlin has no compromising dossier on Mr. Trump, such information is not consistent with reality and is nothing but an absolute fantasy,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitri. S. Peskov said at a regular news briefing, according to The New York Times.
“There are people who foment this hysteria, who move heaven and earth to keep up this ‘witch hunt,’ ” Peskov said. “By the way, this is how Mr. Trump characterized this fabrication.”
Peskov said the report with unverified claims was “pulp fiction” meant to hurt the relations between Russia and America.
Reports surfaced a day earlier saying intelligence officials has briefed the president-elect on a shadowy, unverifiable dossier alleging the Russia government had damaging information on him.
